WHAT  TO EXPECT AFTER BREAST SURGERY

WHAT  TO EXPECT AFTER BREAST SURGERY

Phases of Recovery

Phase 1- Post Surgery
You may experience swelling, discomfort, and slight limitations in range of motion.  We have a variety of products to assist with your healing and our trained professionals will work with your Physician to provide you with the products appropriate for your unique needs.
  • Post-Surgical zipper front close camisoles with supportive shelf bra - accessories include hidden drain management pockets and light weight fiber fill breast forms that provide, balance, symmetry and a layer of protection over your surgery site.
  • Post-Surgical front close leisure bras - accessories include drain management pockets and light weight fiberfill breast forms.  These bras are perfect to wear if you are undergoing radiation treatments, as the cotton is soft and breathable and will not irritate any areas of discomfort.
  • Front-Close compression bras assist with swelling reduction  - accessories include drain management pockets, light-weight fiberfill breast forms, and compression belts designed for breast implant stabilization.
Phase II- 2 Weeks Post Surgery
Phase 2 begins when your range of motion improves, swelling starts to subside, your drains are removed, and your physician may place Steri-Strips on your surgery site.  You may also begin the expansion process if you had reconstructive surgery. We will work with your Physician to move you into this next phase of recovery products that will give you the confidence and comfort you need to resume some normal activities.
  • Front close leisure bras
  • Sports bras with front close, back close, and pull-over styling
  • Pocketed camisoles with supportive shelf bra and integrated molded cups
  • Light-Weight non-silicone leisure breast prostheses
  • Light-Weight silicone shell breast prostheses designed for wear during the reconstruction tissue expansion process.  The volume of this form is easily adjustable with a fiberfill pocket on the back of the breast form, so it can be expanded or reduced to match your existing breast, or to the target size of the expansion process.
Phase III- Six weeks Post Surgery
Phase III begins when swelling has completely subsided, your surgery site has healed, or you have completed any radiation treatments.  Whether you need a full breast prosthetic due to mastectomy, or a silicone balance shaper due to asymmetry following a partial-mastectomy (lumpectomy), radiation, or reconstructive surgery, we have the products designed to help you find your new normal and resume regular activities!
  • Pocketed or Regular bras - full support, seamless, molded cup, underwire - we have every style, shape, color or size that you may need.  Mastectomy bras now come in the same colors and styles available in any other bra!
  • Silicone Breast Prostheses
  • Silicone Balance Shapers available in every size and shape needed to restore symmetry and balance
