The Woman's Health and Cancer Rights Act of 1998 ensures that if a group health plan covers mastectomies, the plan must provide certain post-mastectomy benefits. These benefits include ensuring a women has a symmetrical appearance whether they've had a mastectomy, partial mastectomy (lumpectomy), or reconstruction.
